Your No‑Stress Black Friday & Cyber Monday Prep Plan
It seems that every year events creep up on us way too quickly. Two important event that have recently landed in the calendar for every retailer, that kick off the festive selling season, are Black Friday & Cyber Monday.
Black Friday lands on November 28, 2025 with Cyber Monday on December 1, even though this seems like tomorrow's problem, it is worth preparing now and thinking about what your store wants to do to be involved, and to ensure you don't miss out on vital sales.
Here at Insider Media Group we are regularly asked if we have some tips to plan for these events, the team put our heads together, and came up with these pointers that may help you prep.
Plan
This may seem obvious, but you might not want to simply put a 25% discount on all products. It may be a well recognised discounting event, but you still have to make a profit, or at least do what is right for your business. Have a look at your margins, your slow moving products, or products that you know may lead to upsells, or future sales, and consider the best discounts that work for you, and your business.
Project
Following on from above, you don't want to be caught short when planning your BFCM event. For those fast moving products you may want to increase inventory levels and supply. For slow moving products, or run outs, you might want to promote these as the products with the greatest discounts so that they aren't left in the warehouse taking up precious space, that would be best taken up by a new hero product range.
Market
Use the marketing tools at your disposal such as EDM's, Social Media, Google etc, to start teasing your customers with an upcoming not to be missed BFCM event. Don't rush to promote any specific products until nearer the time so that customers are eager to pounce on any offers and bargains you have available
Sell
When BFCM arrives don't panic, keep a cool head, your Shopify store is more than capable to cope with traffic, take sales, notify you of inventory levels, and allow you to make any discounts you need. All you need to do is be on hand to answer customer enquiries, and watch the sales roll in.
If you follow these steps you should be prepared to have a successful BFCM , however for further Shopify, or marketing help to ensure your success then chat to us here at Insider Media Group for more tips.
