Our favourite CMS of choice for standard business and portfolio style sites has just given us another reason to love working with them.
Squarespace has known for a while that it needed to advance its e-commerce capabilities to become a viable competitor to the likes of Shopify. Up until now our expert team here at Insider Media Group have viewed Squarespace as an awesome CMS for creating and developing beautiful websites, but its lack of user friendly functions has meant that we have only recommended its E-commerce capabilities as an add on to a website. Put another way we recommend Shopify for a business that is predominantly e-commerce and Squarespace for websites that have e-commerce as a sideline to their business website.
Today Squarespace has announced some great advances to maybe make us think twice about our clients needs before developing an online store outside of Squarespace.
Also today it has been revealed that Squarespace are launching a new range of themes aimed mainly towards the E-Commerce market. Unlike many other CMS platforms these themes will be of a premium quality but will not attract any additional fees. In addition Squarespace are rolling out new features such as a dedicated E-commerce app and new reporting features plus a big plus in our book is the new Abandoned cart recovery feature and simple migration from other E-Commerce CMS providers.
We will take a look further at these new upgrades and will of course report back once they have been road-tested but it certainly is a step in the right direction for Squarespace.
